Privacy, without the puzzle.
Policy updated: 27 September 2026
Fuse is a browser puzzle game. Guests receive a player identity so their games and scores can be saved online. Creating an account from that guest profile keeps its progress and enables access across devices. Leaderboard inclusion starts on for new players; you can turn it off in Account. Daily reminders are off until you enable them. Optional gameplay analytics is off until you allow it. We do not sell personal information or use your gameplay to target advertising.
Email/password accounts use unverified email addresses as login identifiers. Google verifies the email used for Google sign-in. For email accounts, verification and password-reset emails are unavailable. Save your password securely. Google accounts sign in through Google.

What we use, and why
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Email, account identifier and authentication details | Create and secure your account and let you return to saved games. Confirmation and password-reset emails are unavailable in this launch; email ownership for password accounts is not verified. Supabase handles authentication; passwords are not stored as readable gameplay data. If you choose Google, Google shares your account identifier, verified email and basic profile details with Supabase. Your Google password is never shared with Fuse. |
| Guest or account player identifier, game boards, move history, scores, timestamps and player name | Restore games, verify moves and calculate your personal records. A guest identity does not require an email address. |
| Age self-declaration, terms version, and preference changes | Record your account agreement and choices. We ask whether you are at least 18; we do not ask for your date of birth. |
| Public player alias, player identifier, best scores, rank and game date | Show competition results for guests and account holders while leaderboard inclusion is on. The board displays your alias, score and rank, never your email. |
| Push subscription address and encryption keys, reminder consent and delivery timestamps | Send the daily game reminder to browsers you explicitly enable. Notification content does not contain your email or private game data. |
| Technical connection and security data, such as IP address and request logs | Our hosting and authentication providers deliver the service, detect abuse and diagnose failures. |
Optional gameplay analytics
With your permission, PostHog receives a pseudonymous player identifier, whether you are a guest or account holder, page paths, browser/device details, game starts and resumptions, scores and milestones, sign-up/sign-in events, and interactions with install or reminder suggestions. We use these to understand retention, difficulty and useful features. Guest upgrades retain analytics continuity through the same player identifier. We do not send your email, password, player alias, authentication tokens, full game boards, or URL query strings to PostHog. Screen recording, automatic click/form tracking and advertising tracking are off.
PostHog Cloud processes analytics in the United States. You can decline or withdraw permission in Storage settings and continue playing. Withdrawal stops new events and clears analytics identifiers from this browser; it does not automatically erase events already received. Contact the operator for deletion of historical analytics associated with your player ID. Game-account export and deletion currently cover the game database; analytics deletion is handled separately on request.
Your choices
New guest games are saved online under the guest identity stored in your browser. Create an account from that guest profile to keep the same progress, records, leaderboard identity and privacy choice. Games started before guest cloud saving was available are retained as unranked saves. In Account, guests and account holders can turn leaderboard inclusion on or off. Registered account holders can also change their player alias, manage reminders, export account data, or permanently delete their account. Guests can contact the operator for access or deletion requests.
“Include my scores in the leaderboard” starts on for new players. An existing choice to turn it off is preserved. Turning it off removes your entries from the public board; private gameplay remains available. Cached views may take a few minutes to reflect changes. Public information may have been seen or copied by other people while you shared it. Notifications require both your choice in Fuse and your browser’s permission. You can switch them off in Account or your browser settings. Installation is optional and does not grant notification permission.
Clearing browser storage or losing the guest session can leave you unable to access that guest’s online saves. It does not delete those saves. Create an account before clearing site data if you want to return to your progress.
Why we process information
We use player information to provide saved gameplay, player records and the leaderboard feature described above. You can turn off public leaderboard inclusion while continuing to play. Optional push reminders require your consent, which you can withdraw in Account. Optional analytics uses your separate consent, which you can withdraw in Storage settings. We also use technical information to keep the service secure, prevent cheating and fix failures. We may retain or disclose information when a law requires it.
Service providers and international processing
PostHog processes optional gameplay analytics when you allow it. Vercel hosts the game and server endpoints. Supabase provides account authentication, the database and verified scores. Google authenticates you when you choose Google sign-in; Fuse requests only basic sign-in details, not access to Gmail, Drive or contacts. Your browser’s push provider (for example Apple, Google or Mozilla) delivers notifications you request. These providers process data to deliver their services and may process technical data in countries outside your own. Any required contractual transfer safeguards and regional arrangements must be put in place by the operator before launch. This notice does not claim that all data remains in your country.
How long information stays
Guest and account player details, game records and preference history are kept until you delete the player data or the operator removes it earlier. A new game may replace its previous active save. Older local-only guest history contains at most the latest 365 completed runs; this is a run count, not a promise of automatic deletion after 365 days. Browser copies remain until cleared or removed by the browser.
Player deletion removes the authentication identity and related application records, including game saves, public scores and push subscriptions, from the active service. Already sent notifications and copies made by other people cannot be recalled. Provider backups and operational logs can follow their own retention cycles; the operator must confirm those schedules before public launch. We do not promise immediate removal from every backup.
Access, correction and deletion
Registered account holders can use the account export and deletion controls. Guests and account holders can contact the operator above for access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability requests, where applicable. We may need to verify that the player identity is yours; retain your guest session while making a request. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. You do not need to appear on the leaderboard or enable reminders to play.
Adults and account security
This initial account service is for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. Please do not create an account if you are under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact the operator. Choose a unique password and sign out on shared devices; no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Browser storage and changes
See Storage settings for the exact browser storage purposes and removal controls. If the purposes or optional features change, this notice will be updated and new consent will be requested where required.
